Editorial Policy and Code of Conduct
Revista de la Unión Matemática Argentina publishes original research articles
in all areas of pure and applied mathematics. To be published in this journal a
paper must be new, correct, nontrivial, and it must be of interest to a general
mathematical audience. Manuscripts submitted for publication should not have
been already published nor submitted simultaneously for publication in another
journal.
All articles submitted to this journal are peer-reviewed under a single-blind
review process. Contributions are initially assessed by the editors for
suitability for the journal; those deemed suitable are then sent to at least
one independent expert reviewer to assess their scientific quality. The
Editor-in-chief and the Managing Editors are responsible for the final decision
regarding acceptance or rejection of all articles.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content. Authors retain
copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work
simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons
Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an
acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this
journal.
Submitted articles are screened for plagiarism using web searches and the
expertise of our editors and reviewers. The journal may retract the paper after
publication if clear evidence is found that the findings are unreliable as a
result of misconduct or honest error.
No charges are applied at any stage of the publication process, and there are
no fees for readers either.
Retraction policy: Plagiarism and duplicate publication are definitely
considered to be misconduct. Any paper that corresponds to such a case of
misconduct will be removed from the platform and/or the journal site, and the
case will be reported on the website through a formal notice that states the
facts about the source of the work and provides the appropriate citations to
that work.
Refereeing process: The editors choose international experts in the particular
subject of each submitted manuscript to write a report, while ensuring the
confidentiality of the manuscripts until publication. Referees should not
accept to review a paper in which they have any conflict of interest resulting
from relationships or connections with any of the authors. Their assessment
should not be influenced by the origin or condition of the authors. Unpublished
results in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research
without the express written consent of the author. Reviewers are asked to
submit their reports less than three months after receiving the manuscript.
Refereeing is done entirely out of goodwill.
Privacy statement: The names and email addresses entered in this journal site
will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal, and will not
be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
